Our History
It started with a dream, a dog, and a man named Dan— and has evolved into
something amazing in just 10 years. Here are a just a few milestones we’ve
reached in the past decade:
1999
- A dog is born: over a few Long Island Iced teas, a Long Island guy, a
Cuban and an Irishwoman hatch a plan
2001
- Doing good and giving back: LeadDog begins its soon-to-be extensive list
of non-profit clients with American Cancer Society
2002
- Going global: LeadDog’s first international event: WWE Fan Frenzy in Melbourne,
Australia
- Acquisition of National Media Group…Our extended family continues to grow
along with our presence in the media industry
2004
- LeadDog named a Promo 100 Agency for the first time
- We begin our relationship with ABC-TV as its Promotion Agency of Record
- Awarded first Ex Award by Event Marketer Magazine for our work with Real
Simple Magazine
2005
- LeadDog moves on up from 14th Street to 25th Street
- Awarded a second Ex Award for Best Multi-Venue Event with Chase Automotive
Finance
2006
- Awarded a third Ex Award for Best Single Venue/Market Event (Consumer)
with Sephora; an ISES Big Apple Award also with Sephora; two FAME Folio
Awards for work with SELF Magazine; and a Corporate Marketing Event award
for work with World Wrestling Entertainment
- 1st Annual LeadDog Cup: annual intra-office competition and trash-talking
festival commences
2007
- Acquisition of Epic, expanding our international capabilities and strategic
planning and management services
- Awarded two Davey Awards for digital work on behalf of Red Penguin and
Cognizant; two Telly Awards for work with Madison Square Garden;
and is named to Event Marketer Magazine’s It List and Agencies To
Watch list
2008
- Really Good Food Division established: Ted & Honey, our Brooklyn
café, opens its red doors, led by locavore Chef Chris “Ted” Jackson. Our
staff goes nuts over potential for free food
- LeadDog is nominated for an Emmy for its work with Madison Square Garden!
- LeadDog builds on its vision to provide value for socially and environmentally conscious
brands with the launch of its greendog division
2009
- LeadDog ranked one of the Top 10 Fastest Growing Agencies in Promo Magazine
for the 6th year in a row
- After an extensive and exhausting interview process, Uma, a somewhat sedentary
yet occasionally enthusiastic Pug, wins job as the official LeadDog mascot
and resident cheerleader
- Awarded fourth Ex Award for Best Event Production (Consumer) with NASCAR
Champions Week; as well as three PROMAX Awards for Interactive Promotions
with TNT’s LeverageHQ.com; a Bronze Cannes Lion for its DeBeers Unbreakable
Kiss promotion; two ISES Awards for Best Non Profit with MS Society’s Brain
Games and Best Green Event for NYC’s Summer Streets Program; four FAME Folio
Awards for Best Life, O, The Oprah Magazine, Rodale and Better Homes and Gardens
programs; and a Run Walk Ride Pacesetter Award with Memorial Sloan-Kettering
Cancer Center
- LeadDog heir, Jackson Robinson Red Mannix, 8 pounds, 7 ounces, born July
16, 2009. Dan adds diaper duty to his growing list of responsibilities
